About this event

Join us for a a one-day conference on the topic of Hope and Optimism: Scientific and Jewish Perspectives, to take place on November 2, 2026 on Brown University's campus in Providence, RI, from 9 AM to 6 PM. The event will be entirely in person, and will feature talks, panels, and discussions from a range of world-class scholars drawn from psychological and humanistic disciplines. Behind the conference is the conviction that humanists and scientists can engage in meaningful dialogue that will enrich the work of both. We do not expect that a psychologist, for example, will explicitly reference anything humanistic, or vice-versa, but we do want to encourage curiosity, openness, and dialogue. To that end, the presentations will be grouped in panels that will mix humanists and scientists and encourage cross-disciplinary conversation. The conference is free. To register to attend, please fill out this form (https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLScsWQaBuVqUvt5k_BkI_-bOHB3bJAOkB34qCoAOyo3k3LK_hA/viewform).he topic of Hope and Optimism: Scientific and Jewish Perspectives, to take place on November 2, 2026 on Brown University's campus in Providence, RI, from 9 AM to 6 PM.
