Newport WinterFest (38th year) begins Friday, Feb.
13 and lasts for 10 days, featuring events such as the inaugural Weinerfest on Feb. 21 and the 29th Annual Chili Cook-Off on Feb. 14 with $10 bracelets offering discounts at events, stores, and restaurants in Newport and Middletown.

Freshman forward Lorelei Blanchard scored in the first period as the East Bay Riptide won a 1-0 game against the Northern RI Yeti Co-Op on Friday night at Portsmouth Abbey.
The event raised funds and awareness for athlete mental health through Sophie’s Squad (nonprofit).
