Good morning, Newport.

Today in Rhode Island history, Grammy-nominated musician Jeffrey Osborne—born in Providence—is honored for his role as lead singer of L.T.D. and for founding a charity that has raised over $1,000,000 to support music programs and local families since 2012.

Sixteen homes closed last week across Newport County, including high-end sales at 63 Coggeshall Avenue for $3,800,000 and 27 Marcello Drive for $3,295,000 — a sign of strong demand as more spring listings are expected.
