- ➤ Families can join a range of Easter egg hunts, including an egg roll in Richmond on Easter Sunday, a zoo meet with the Easter Bunny in Providence on March 28-29 and April 3-4, and a dog-friendly hunt in North Kingstown on April 4, with additional events in Lincoln and Bristol. - ➤ AARP Rhode Island will host a free drive-thru shredding event at Edward King House on April 24 from 9 a.m. to noon (no membership is required) so Newport residents can safely dispose of sensitive documents while each person may bring up to two boxes. What's Up Newp

- ➤ Musician David Olney was born in Providence on March 23, 1948. In the 1970s and 1980s he played with bands like Simpson and the X-Rays and became known as an Americana pioneer before he died on stage in January 2020. What's Up Newp
- ➤ Calvin Tomkins, a longtime staff writer for The New Yorker who profiled prominent artists — including Andy Warhol and Marcel Duchamp — died Friday at 100 in Middletown, Rhode Island from stroke complications. He is remembered for a celebrated career that enriched the art world. WJAR NBC 10

- ➤ On January 6 during PHADA’s Commissioners’ Conference in Tampa, FL, Nikki Vazquez—Executive Director of the Jamestown Housing Authority and Chair of Newport Housing Authority—graduated from the PHADA-Rutgers University Executive Director Education Program.
