Friends of Newport Skatepark, known as FONS, will hold its Annual Membership Meeting and Member Dinner on March 31 at 7 p.m. at Aquidneck Pizza in Middletown—members will vote for the Board of Directors and Officers for the 2025-2026 term.

Richard is a six-year-old male bloodhound available for adoption at Potter League for Animals in Middletown (he walks well on a leash and loves treats) and he has experience living with cats (making him a gentle companion).

Last week, the Newport Folk Festival announced Bonny Light Horseman, Ken Pomeroy, Saya Gray, and Hannah Cohen in its sold-out lineup set for July 25—27.

Today, Congressman Gabe Amo announced he is inviting high school students from the First Congressional District to submit artwork for the annual Congressional Art Competition—entries must follow the theme Hope in the Ocean State.

The contest deadline is April 18th and the winner’s work will be displayed at the U.S. Capitol for a year.
