  • Donations surpassed $1 million in less than three hours at 401Gives on Tuesday as over 3,700 Rhode Island donors supported 602 local nonprofits including the Haitian Project, Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Community Center and Audubon Society.   • Trader Joe’s has reintroduced its traditional French cannelés for a limited time from March through May in Newport stores, selling for $5.49 a box of four desserts. Made by a San Francisco bakery using silicone molds for efficient production, they offer a savory, chewy exterior and a soft, custardy center.  The Newport Daily News
  • Many Stop & Shop locations in Rhode Island will close early on Easter Sunday, April 5, with stores open until 5 p.m. to allow employees more time with loved ones, according to the supermarket's website.  The Newport Daily News
