  • Community groups across Aquidneck Island will host Earth Week from April 19 to April 27 with clean-ups, free workshops, film screenings, work parties and guided hikes (now in its sixth year).   • Starting May 7, TSA will enforce Real ID, so Newport residents planning air travel or entry to federal buildings must visit the DMV with proper paperwork — temporary licenses are not accepted.   • Secretary of State Gregg M. Amore and the Rhode Island Department of State announced that the State House will open special Saturday hours (10 a.m. until 1 p.m.) on May 3 for abbreviated tours and an Act of Renunciation display, and they urged Rhode Islanders to show state flags and share pictures on social media by May 4.  What's Up Newp

  • Anchor Medical Associates will close its locations in June—forcing over 25,000 patients to find new primary care doctors—with the first shutdown at Warwick Pediatric and Adult Medicine set for April 30 due to a lack of replacement doctors.  ABC6
