- ➤ Newport City Council approved an ordinance today to raise most parking violation fines from $40 to $60 and fines for blocking fire hydrants, parking on fire lanes or in restricted areas to $100—City Administration said the change follows a survey of other communities and is expected to add over $438,000 in revenue.
