Good morning, Newport.

Newport Performing Arts Center reported net income losses in 2024, 2023, and 2020 as it worked to raise funds for renovating the historic opera house on Washington Square.

It raised $104,000 in 2025 but still needs about $10.1 million to reopen the venue.

The new episode of Real Housewives of Rhode Island, released April 19, 2026, features local spots—North Kingstown Town Beach, The Gentle Farm in Wakefield and Rail Explorers in Portsmouth—and teases upcoming drama at a polo match on Glen Farm.

Rhode Island now allows recreational and medical use, letting adults carry one ounce and grow plants at home (state guidelines set the limits).

Meanwhile, New Hampshire only decriminalizes cannabis, issuing fines and possible penalties for larger amounts.
