- ➤ Rhode Island will celebrate Memorial Day with events from today to May 25, featuring parades in Barrington and East Greenwich, a 5K walk at Fort Adams at 10 a.m. today, and festivals including the Rogue Island Comedy Festival in Newport (and Gaspee Days at Pawtuxet Park). The Newport Daily News
- ➤ Operation Stand Down RI hosts the Boots on the Ground for Heroes Memorial at Fort Adams State Park this Memorial Day weekend to honor fallen service members with an exhibit of 7,000 combat boots. - ➤ Governor McKee has proposed a $50M bond to boost career education programs by providing grants for new capital improvements and program expansion in public schools across the state.
