  • GoNetspeed is expanding its high-speed fiber network to Newport with a $13 million investment that will provide multigigabit internet to over 8,200 homes and businesses.   • An investigation found that RIDOT may have missed using non-destructive inspection methods for the westbound Washington Bridge, which closed in December 2023 due to hidden corrosion on post-tension cables — inspection reports from 2015 to 2023 noted significant damage — and RIDOT will announce on June 6 the contractor for building a new westbound span.  The Public's Radio
