REAL ESTATE NEWS

  • The Rhode Island Association of Realtors has warned against proposed budget changes—an increase in the conveyance tax and a new 'Taylor Swift Tax' on second homes over a million dollars—that could further strain the housing market. • Lawmakers have proposed increasing the conveyance tax on house sales so a $750,000 home sale would cost about $2,175 more — realtors warn the extra tax could slow a market already short on homes.
