290 participants ran and walked in the second annual Charlie Holder, Sr. Memorial 5K on May 17, raising $20,000 for the Newport County YMCA and Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Community Center — each received $10,000 as a tribute to Mr. Holder, who passed away on August 6, 2023.

The Holder family presented the checks and noted that the event surpassed last year’s numbers while already planning next year’s race on May 9.
