  • The 6th Annual Lobby Muddy Fest returns Saturday, July 19 from 2—6 p.m. at Smugglers Waterfront Bar to raise funds for Newport Mental Health with live music, food, raffles, and an after party at The Lobster Bar. The event began in 2020 as a small pub gathering and has raised over $100,000, and it is sponsoring the Rock the Beach Gala on September 25 to support expanded mental health care.  What's Up Newp
  • Newport Mansions has opened a new dining spot at The Elms Carriage House—this renovated and accessible venue offers New England classics and farm-to-table fare with indoor seating and outdoor tables. The Carriage House is open daily through September 30 from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. with last admission at 4 p.m. and will run on weekends in October while welcoming only visitors with a tour ticket or Preservation Society membership.  What's Up Newp
  • Newport County will host several summer events this weekend with an art exhibit opening at Deblois Gallery in Middletown on Saturday from 5 to 7 p.m., a free kite festival at Brenton Point State Park from July 12 to 13 with workshops and displays, a commemoration of French troops at the Rochambeau Monument on Saturday from 10 to 10:30 a.m. featuring wreath-laying and the Marseillaise, a special storytime for preschool children at Portsmouth Free Public Library on Saturday at 10:30 a.m., and a charity concert by the Everybody Chorus at Jamestown Recreation Center on Sunday at 3 p.m.—local groups and organizers plan events that celebrate art, history, and community—offering a range of activities for all ages.  The Newport Daily News

  • The Newport Classical Music Festival runs through July 22—offering over 29 concerts with more than 100 artists in iconic local venues.   • The Greater Newport Chamber of Commerce will welcome United States Senator Jack Reed as the special guest speaker at the Politics — Pancakes event on August 7th in Newport. HEALTH NEWS

  • State health officials and environmental management confirmed a harmful blue-green algae bloom at Almy Pond in Newport and advise residents to avoid all recreational activities—swimming, fishing, boating, and letting pets contact the water—until further notice.
