ACCIDENTS NEWS

  • On Saturday morning, October 4, Jamestown Volunteer Firefighters answered four calls including a car fire on the Newport Bridge at 10:10 a.m.—where heavy smoke was seen—and a rescue of a hiker stuck on coastal rocks at 12:29 p.m.; firefighters used drones and all-terrain vehicles to clear a safe path, and the hiker was unhurt.  What's Up Newp
  • Jamestown fire crews rescued a woman trapped on the rocks on Beavertail Road while hiking Saturday—firefighters cut through the brush to reach her and guide her back to the trail, and she was not hurt.  WJAR NBC 10

  • Today more than 24,000 Rhode Islanders over age 65 live with dementia — one in eight older adults — and the BOLD Act has funded early detection and caregiver support.
