- ➤ Today and tomorrow, the 34th annual Bowen’s Wharf Seafood Festival takes place on Newport’s historic waterfront from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m., offering free admission, fresh seafood, live music, and family-friendly options. - ➤ Newport has a busy weekend with many live music shows—festivals and public meetings spread over Friday, today, and Sunday. - ➤ The Museum of Newport Irish History will host historian Dr. Timothy J. Meagher on Monday at 6 p.m. at the Wyndham Newport Hotel where he will talk about Irish American identity changes over four decades—doors open at 5:30 p.m. and the talk is available in person or via Zoom. What's Up Newp
- ➤ The JPT Film and Event Center will host a fall storytelling series featuring best-selling fantasy author Carissa Broadbent on Oct. 20 at 6 p.m. in Newport's historic Washington Square. - ➤ Hundreds of thousands of Rhode Islanders may get between $100 and $5000 as part of a proposed settlement over the RI Bridges data hack that exposed personal info for over 735000 people in December—postcards will be mailed to potential claimants within 30 days.
