- ➤ Stephen Whitmore, the regional leader of the Knights Templar in Rhode Island and Massachusetts, explained that the group counts between 1,000 and 1,500 members who meet monthly in local Masonic lodges for charity and faith-based work—modern Templars no longer wear armor. The organization, with roots going back to the 1100s, requires members to support or believe in Christianity. The Newport Daily News
- ➤ Newport Vineyards — a family-run winery on over 100 acres — celebrated 30 years and hosted a Harvest Festival today that featured axe throwing, grape stomping, and cider-brined turkey legs while offering farm-to-table dining, Sunday brunch, wine and cheese classes, live music, daily tours, and tastings at 11 am, 1 pm, and 3 pm.
