- ➤ Bank Rhode Island has launched its 28th annual Holiday Giving Tree program to help local kids by inviting community members to donate gifts at BankRI branches (ornaments list each child’s wish). The program partners with 16 nonprofits and will run through mid-December—last year it delivered 6,944 gifts. What's Up Newp
- ➤ Edward King House Senior Center and No Wrong Door Behavioral Health are partnering to hold a food drive for local families and older adults facing food insecurity this holiday season. Donations are accepted at 35 King St. through Nov. 13 and will conclude with a drive-through collection on Nov. 15 from 9 a.m.—noon, as organizers request nonperishable shelf-stable items. - ➤ The Choir School of Newport County will present its candlelight Concert of Remembrance on November 15 at 4 p.m. at St. George’s School Chapel in Middletown—featuring local and guest choirs, orchestral soloists and works such as John Rutter’s Requiem to honor his 80th birthday—with an anonymous donor underwriting costs so that all voluntary admission donations will benefit international humanitarian war relief coordinated through Episcopal Relief and Development. - ➤ Audrain Concours Foundation and Audrain Motorsport announced a multi-year partnership with Broad Arrow Auctions to be the exclusive auction partner for Audrain Newport Concours & Motor Week and the presenting sponsor for the Audrain Motorsport Veteran Car Tour starting in 2026 and continuing through 2028—Broad Arrow’s first auction presence in the Northeast positions Newport as a key spot for collector car events. - ➤ Rhode Island Attorney General Peter Neronha opposed a court request by the troubled owner of Roger Williams and Fatima hospitals to close them by the end of December and urged Prospect to seek other buyers. His office said that closing the hospitals would hurt many communities—while both hospitals continue to run normally. WJAR NBC 10

- ➤ Last week, Newport County saw 21 homes sold between Oct. 27 and 31—transactions included a $8,100,000 sale at 283 Ocean Avenue and a $995,000 deal at 3 Sharon Court. Sellers prepared for year-end closings as motivated buyers visited open houses in a steady market. What's Up Newp
