- ➤ Newport's vintage carousel was removed from Easton’s Beach in May and stored in Connecticut when its old building was torn down—officials now must decide whether to upgrade Aquidneck Park’s Martin Recreation Center for a new home or to sell or donate the attraction. The Tree and Open Space Commission report, set for discussion at the council meeting on November 12, highlights the need for major repairs and suggests keeping a couple of horses for display in memory of the 1950s-era ride.
