- ➤ Newport Mansions will host festive holiday events beginning November 21 as four historic houses are dressed with nearly 30 Christmas trees, garlands, and a special 15-foot poinsettia tree that offers a prime photo spot. - ➤ The Rhode Island Public Transit Authority will use $25 million in federal funds to add hybrid buses and improve service. The funding comes from the Low or No Emission Grant Program — a move expected to boost efficiency and lower costs for taxpayers. WJAR NBC 10
- ➤ Rhode Island Energy President Greg Cornett said a plan to give customers about $75 a month in winter bill credits was pulled before a vote by the Public Utility Commission — he remains optimistic that new relief will be agreed upon.
