Good morning, Newport.

What'sUpNewp and the JPT Film and Event Center are hosting their annual National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation party on Tuesday, December 23rd.

The event starts at 6:30 p.m. with a live holiday rock concert by David Tessier's All Star Stars and then shows the 1989 comedy at 7:30 p.m. (free Christmas cookies are included).

Sakonnet Vineyard will welcome Santa and Mrs. Claus this Sunday from 2 to 4 p.m. as part of its holiday kick-off, where visitors can take free photos with Santa, decorate cookies, sip mulled wine and hot chocolate, and watch a tree lighting.

Guests are asked to bring a new, unwrapped toy (for Tiverton Police Department’s Operation Blue Santa) as the vineyard celebrates its 50th anniversary (spanning 169 acres).
