  • Emmy-winning actress Christine Baranski will narrate a musical version of Dickens’ A Christmas Carol on Thursday, Dec. 18 at the Morgan Library + on Friday, Dec. 19 at The Breakers in Newport as she readies for filming season four of The Gilded Age on Feb. 23, 2026.  What's Up Newp
  • Newport County is hosting holiday events including Wild Solstice at the Jane Pickens Theater on Dec. 21 at 4 p.m. and the Christmas Specialty Market at Tiverton Middle School from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Museum tours and lantern walks add festive cheer.  The Newport Daily News

HEALTH NEWS

  • Newport Hospital cut the ribbon on Sunday on its new eight-bed adolescent behavioral health unit built for youths ages 12 to 18. It will begin treating patients in the first quarter of next year to offer short-term stabilization, assessment and care to more than 240 adolescents annually.  What's Up Newp

  • Rhode Island FC announced its 2026 season schedule on Tuesday; the team will open at home against Loudoun United FC on Saturday, March 7 at Centreville Bank Stadium and play 34 games through October.
