Salve Regina's Ochre Court plays a duke's castle in The Gilded Age's Season 4 premiere
The New in Newport team
If the mansion on your TV looked familiar Sunday night, that's because it is. HBO's "The Gilded Age" returned for Season 4, and Salve Regina University's Ochre Court takes center stage in the premiere. It doubles as Sidmouth Castle, home of Hector, Duke of Buckingham, and his new bride, Gladys Russell. Not every day your campus doubles as a duke's castle.
- Premiere: Sun., Nov. 1, at 9 p.m. Eastern
- Castle stand-in: Ochre Court as Sidmouth Castle
- Architect: Richard Morris Hunt
- Where to watch: HBO Max
Salve students and an alumna got in on the act, too. They swapped everyday wardrobes for 19th-century costumes, complete with period hair and makeup, to appear as extras in Season 4.
